IPAC elects a new NEC chairman, Dantalle.

IPAC elects a new NEC chairman, Dantalle. The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the Inter-party Advisory Committee (IPAC), which serves as the umbrella organization for all legally recognized political parties in Nigeria, was chosen to lead the committee's operations.

Hon. Dipo Olayoku of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) was elected as the new Deputy National Chairman, and Yusuf Mamman Dantalle of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) emerged as the new chairman.

With ten votes, Dantalle defeated Yabagi Sani, the Action Democratic Party (ADP) national chairman, who was in office. Sani received eight votes, with one being disqualified.

Chief Dan Nwanyanwu, the head of the IPAC electoral commission, declared the election results.

The following people were also elected: Obed Agu, National Legal Adviser; Martins Egbeola, National Organizing Secretary; Mariam Babel, National Treasurer; and Ibrahim Suleiman, National Financial Secretary. Dipo Olayoku was elected as Deputy National Chairman "unopposed."

Dantalle praised IPAC members in a statement shortly after the election for having faith in him to head the council.

He promised to carry out his duties in collaboration with all party leaders, adhering to the legislation that governs the council.

In addition to promising to engage with women, he asked all political leaders for their cooperation.

"I want to reassure women that IPAC will have something greater and better under my leadership," stated Dantalle. In order to guarantee that women's inclusivity is elevated under my direction, if I am granted the assembly's mandate, I will work to create the Directorate of Women Affairs.

"Secondly, I want to make every effort to make sure that IPAC is registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) within the next three months of our administration."

In his own words, former IPAC Chairman Sani praised Dantalle's victory and stated that democracy was now in action.

"We are expected to exhibit maturity and humility," stated Sani. We are expected to act as if we cherish our democracy. Having elections is one of the characteristics that sets democracy apart from other systems of governance.

"The election was ultimately won by Dantalle, according to the results. I've already wished him well. I hope that whatever he accomplishes to advance IPAC beyond where it is now, in the years to come, I will have cause for pride.
