The group's chairman, Shalom Olaseni, also sent the organization's sympathies to the bereaved family of former governor Rotimi Akeredolu, SAN, the Ondo State government, and the resilient people of Ondo State in a statement released on Thursday.
According to Olaseni, the people will never forget the late governor's unwavering strength, bravery, and resilience in the face of leukemia's unrelenting hold.
The governor, he said, "embodied the very essence of leadership as he navigated the turbulent waters of his illness with grace and fortitude. He was a paragon of unwavering determination." We bend our heads in homage today as we consider the unceasing efforts he made to protect the lives of Ondo State residents, especially through the brilliant Amotekun program. In this sense, his legacy is more than just a footnote in our history—rather, it is a tribute to the tenacity of a man who dared to challenge authority.
"Let it be known that the Ondo State Conscience Movement stands in unshakable solidarity with those terribly affected by this tragedy, even as we grieve the departure of a political giant. Following this somber occasion, we would like to congratulate Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa on assuming the mantle of leadership. We beg Governor Aiyedatiwa to take office during this time of transition with bravery, justice, and a firm dedication to the values of good government.
