In a statement released on Monday in Yola, Mr. Humwashi Wonosikou, the governor's chief press secretary, stated that the appeal was for the Adamawa governorship election in 2023.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the Appeal Court in Abuja denied an appeal against Fintiri on Monday.
NAN further remembers that on October 27, the electoral petition tribunal in Yola confirmed Fintiri as the governor of Adamawa based on a petition submitted by Binani.
Fintiri declared the ruling as "a victory for the rule of law," implying that Nigerian democracy was here to stay.
In addition, he pushed all sides to unite and cooperate for the advancement of the state.
"I was not surprised by the verdict because the PDP put in a lot of effort to win the election," he stated.
Fintiri continued by saying that the triumph validates the aspirations of the Adamawa people, which they openly voiced during the previous election.
He gave thanks to God and the state's citizens for the triumph.
Before determining the merits and demerits of the case, the governor praised the decisions made by the Tribunal and Court of Appeal for their meticulous evaluation of all the accusations made against him in the petitions.
