Gov. Nwifuru affirms that the welfare of the elderly and widows in Ebonyi is a top priority.Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi has reaffirmed that the care of the state's elderly and widows will remain a top priority for his government.


During the elders' and widows' celebration in Abakaliki, Nwifuru provided the assurance at the Christian Ecumenical Center.


The governor restated his commitment to improving the lives of many, particularly the elderly, widows, and other underprivileged groups.


He clarified that securing an efficient target mechanism was the fundamental purpose of the People's Charter of Needs.


He expressed his gratitude to the elders for their tenacity and contributions to the growth of the state.


He declared that widows and the elderly would continue to get honors from his administration.


"God will honor us when we honor our parents," he declared.


The governor promised an upward evaluation of their welfare, acknowledging the effects of the current economic climate on widows and the elderly.


"I promise that I will work for you, that I am for you, and that I am with you."


The governor of Ebonyi, according to Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters Mr. Uchenna Igwe, is dedicated to making sure that the wellbeing of all Ebonyian classes will not change.


On behalf of the elders, Mr. Steven Obasi thanked the governor for the yearly program and highlighting their services to the state.
