Following the rejection of standing committee membership by Kano business magnate Abdulsamad and others, the APC reverses course.
The inauguration of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), scheduled for tomorrow, has been indefinitely postponed, the party stated yesterday.

The choice was made in response to Kano-based business magnate Alhaji Abdulsamad Rabiu's decision to decline his nomination to the finance committee. Rabiu said he wasn't informed prior to his committee designation.

At a press conference following the weekly meeting of the party's national working committee (NWC), which was held at the national secretariat in Abuja, Mr. Felix Morka, the national publicity secretary for the APC, disclosed this.

He did not, however, provide an explanation for the abrupt cancellation of the standing committees' inauguration.

"There is no need for that discussion," he stated. This is one of the party's activities. that the party opted to postpone for a variety of reasons, all of which are, quite frankly, redundant, following today's NWC discussion.

This notice is intended to inform individuals who were appointed that they are not required to travel to Abuja for an event that will not take place as originally scheduled. That, in my opinion, is all that matters," he remarked.

The party also denounced the assassination attempt on Dr. Gabriel Longpet, the resident electoral commissioner of Kogi state, by unidentified gunmen.

The party, concerned about the unsightly incident, ordered security services to make sure that individuals who commit the act are apprehended and subjected to the full force of the law.

The party added that it had finalized plans to begin selling nomination and expression of interest forms to potential candidates for the Edo and Ondo state gubernatorial contests that will take place the following year.

Morka also revealed the approval of the appointments of executive officers to the party's chapters in the states of Niger, Nasarawa, Lagos, and the Delta.

The officials are made up of. Aminu Musa Bobi, the Chairman of Niger State, Adeola Jokomba, the Secretary of Lagos State, and Peter Akarogbe, the Secretary of Delta State Nasarawa State's chairman, Aliyi Bello, and secretary, Yainus Dangusa
