Fintiri suggests allocating N225.8 billion to Adamawa's budget in 2024.
The state House of Assembly received a N225.8 billion appropriations bill for the 2024 fiscal year on Friday from Adamawa Governor Ahmadu Fintiri.

The authorized budget for 2023 is N175 billion more than this amount.

Fintiri announced that the budget, dubbed the "Budget of Re-engineering," will be centered on the state's key infrastructure development.

According to him, N114.5 billion in capital expenditures, or 51% of the total, and N111.3 billion in recurring expenses, or 49.5 percent, were included in the estimate.

According to the governor, the N68.3 billion statutory allocation, N22.2 billion in internal revenue generated (IGR), N16 billion in exchange rate difference, N1 billion ecological fund, and N47.7 billion in value added tax (VAT) will all be used to finance the budget.

According to Finitiri, the budget will include the money needed to expedite the building of infrastructure in vital areas like social services, health, education, and security.

The lawmakers will make sure the bill passed quickly, according to Speaker Mr. Wesley Bahtaya.

Bahtaya commended the governor for carrying out the entire 2023 budget, but she also credited rigorous adherence to the separation of powers principles for the amicable working relationship between the executive and the legislative.
