The renewed hope mandate of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to overcome marginalization through equitable distribution of economic and social amenities, as well as infrastructure, among the federating units was cited by the Federal Character Commission (FCC) on Wednesday.

According to the statement, the goal of the sensitization is to guarantee that the commission's responsibilities are carried out in accordance with the current administration's plan to instill newfound optimism for the nation.

At the FCC-organized sensitization workshop for stakeholders from the South West Geopolitical Zone with the theme "Equity, Fairness, and Justice in the Distribution of Resources as a Tool in Realizing the Renewed Hope Agenda," in Abuja, FCC Chairman Muheeba Dankaka revealed this information.

Chief Lawrence Olufemi Omosanya, the federal commissioner for Ondo State who represented Dankaka at the panel, stated that the body would carefully carry out its duty to bridge gaps in employment and infrastructure.

Dankaka stated, "The renewed hope mandate and mantra of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration has been keyed into by the Federal Character Commission."

Prior to the Federal Character Commission's establishment, several tasks were not done correctly. However, since the beginning, particularly with the present board that was established in 2020. The federal character's guiding principles have been our focus.

"There is no denying that the Federal Character Commission is carrying out its constitutional duties as evidenced by a number of milestones."

Hon. Henry Ogbulogo, the Federal Commissioner for Abia State on the commission, stated in his remarks that the goal of the sensitization is to inform stakeholders on the implementation of an equitable infrastructure distribution plan in accordance with the commission's mandates.

"People are becoming aware that this FCC principle is to distribute resources, appointments, and orders in an equitable manner," he stated. And what we're doing now is taking the home participant from the Southwest Zooms so they can learn more about the principle. We also encourage them to attempt to be our eyes as much as possible so that some of what we're preaching gets recorded.

But Mr. David Olugbade Fakeye, Special Advisor to the Executive Chairman of the FCC, stated in his paper presentation that although Nigeria has great potential, it also faces significant obstacles. Like prior governments in the past, the government's bold, practical, and ambitious plans and programs to solve the issues facing our pluralistic society and close existing infrastructure gaps are contained in the renewed hope agenda paper.

"The primary goals of the agenda are to resurrect Nigeria, bring about prosperity, unity, and integration, with particular emphasis on the areas of food security, poverty alleviation, economic growth, capital accessibility, inclusivity, security, infrastructure advancements, and anti-corruption initiatives, among other things.

All of these pillars center on the necessity of equitable, just, and fair distribution rather than the concentration of wealth in the hands of a small number of people.
