This was corroborated by an S&P Global report that said the OTIS tanker sailed on December 6 with 950,000 barrels of Nigerian Agbami crude aboard.
The tanker is presently traveling to Lekki, Lagos State, the closest land port to Dangote's offshore crude receiving terminal, according to S&P Global.
It was mentioned that a huge milestone for Nigeria's oil industry was reached with the arrival of the first crude shipment at the massive $19 billion Dangote refinery.
The report states that the tanker is scheduled to arrive on December 7 at approximately 8 p.m.; this arrival signifies the start of crude supplies for the refinery's operations.
A West African oil trader with knowledge of the situation, cited by S&P Global, claims that the Suezmax tanker, chartered by the state-owned Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), represents the first crude supply to Dangote's cutting-edge refinery, even as the impressive structure is about to start producing fuel.
