Ajulo praises Akeredolu's transfer of authority to Aiyedatiwa in the Ondo crisisSenior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) Kayode Ajulo has praised the transfer of power from Rotimi Akeredolu, the governor of Ondo State, to Lucky Aiyedatiwa, his deputy.


The scholarly silk praised President Bola Tinubu as well for adhering to the constitution without being influenced by personal feelings.


In carrying out their constitutional responsibilities, Ajulo also pleaded on the Ondo State House of Assembly to prioritize the needs of the state before partisanship.


The Senior Advocate of Nigeria stated in an interview with The Guardian that the Deputy's assumption of power "is exactly what we demanded." That is the clear-cut, basic constitutional requirement that shouldn't be bent to suit the whims or fancy of any individual.


The necessary has been completed, and I appreciate everyone—including the President—for making sure that the constitutional provision is activated in spite of multiple political whims. I also wish the governor the quickest possible recovery.


"I command the State Assembly to respond to their summons. It should always be evident that they are the people's representatives.


After he returned from a medical vacation in Germany, Governor Akeredolu and his deputy got into a disagreement.


Following that, the deputy governor was the target of an impeachment proceeding by the state House of Assembly due to serious misbehavior charges.


President Tinubu met with the contending factions at the Presidential Villa after the development polarized the Assembly, the State Executive Council, and the state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC).


Nonetheless, the governor's choice to transfer authority to his deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, to manage state activities in an acting capacity seems to have settled the dust created by his refusal to hand over.
