ADP candidate for House of Representatives charges party chair of falsifying his death certificate.Musa Mohammed Ali is the Action Democratic Party's (ADP) representative in the House of Representatives for the Nasarawa Constituency in Kano State in 2023.

Musa Mohammed Ali, the Action Democratic Party's (ADP) House of Representatives candidate for the Nasarawa Constituency in Kano State in 2023, accused Victor Fingesi and Yabaji Sani, the party's chairman and secretary, of fabricating and submitting his death certificate to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in order to be replaced.

He told Sani and Fingesi three days to retract the letter from INEC and publish an apology letter in five national newspapers, failing which he threatened to sue the suspected forgers.

In a plea made public to the media and addressed to the Director General of the Department of State Services (DSS), Yusuf Magaji Bichi, and Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun, Ali instructed the security services to investigate the matter.

He bemoaned how the death claim had crushed and traumatized him, noting that acquaintances from outside the state had been sending condolence notes to his family. He also added that people were still seeing him as a ghost, which had caused him to become alienated.

He said, "I am still heartbroken, devastated, and traumatized following a letter dated 1st November 2022, the National Chairman of Action Democratic Party (ADP) and National Secretary, Victor Fingesi forwarded to the Chairman, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), entitled, "Notice of Death Certificate in Kano State and Primaries for Replacement."

Since the disdainful announcement of my death by ADP leaders, which also had a negative impact on my campaign for the House of Representatives seat in Kano State's Nasarawa Constituency, people have been flocking to my home for more than a year to offer their condolences, especially friends and relatives from outside Kano State and the nation.

"A year of misery, anguish, and grief has passed; some people think I'm a ghost and wonder if I'm still alive. I swore in an affidavit in the High Court of Kano on August 31, 2022, that I had not withdrawn my candidature and never would. I can still run for office and be elected to the Federal House of Representatives as a Kano representative.

Additionally, on August 31, 2022, I sent a letter to the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, which was acknowledged on October 4, 2022. For my party's National Chairman, Engineer Yabagi Sani, and National Secretary, Victor Fingesi, to write to INEC declaring my death when they knew full well that I was still alive and, more crucially, actively campaigned for the House of Representatives election, is unthinkable, vile, reckless, and wicked.

"It is abhorrent; I haven't fully recovered from the suffering this man caused my family and how it has impacted my business." This has to end—politics that is transactional, dishonest, and resentful.

"It is a breach of the trust I had in Engr Yabagi Sani, the National Chairman of the Inter Party Advisory Council (IPAC) and the chairman of the ADP till recently.

One cannot stress enough how important it is for leaders to be accountable and truthful. Therefore, I demand that the disrespectful letter to INEC be withdrawn and that a public apology be published in five major newspapers within three days, failing which I will take legal action.
