A corps member who donates 101 wheelchairs is hired
A corps member serving in Nasarawa State has been promised automatic employment by Governor Abdullahi Sule in exchange for giving 101 wheelchairs to people with disabilities (PWDs).

The main job of Mr. Chikumega Nwanga, an Ebonyi State native, was posted to the Ministry of Special Duties, Lafia.

During the wheelchair distribution event on Friday in Lafia, the governor commended the corps member for starting a project that would improve the lives of people with disabilities.

He instructed Mrs. Abigail Way, Head of Service, to give the corps member an appointment letter as a thank you for his thoughtfulness.

Along with giving the corps member a half a million naira, Sule instructed all ministries, departments, and agencies to hire PWDs in accordance with State Government policy.

"I want to express my sincere gratitude for the fantastic work you are doing.

"We wanted to do well and accomplish something unique so that we might be recognized when we completed our youth service.

"You have already made your payment and proven that you are a person of great dedication, selflessness, and initiative for this nation.

We are very proud of you for leaving Ebonyi State to travel to another state and donate wheelchairs to people with disabilities.

"With this thoughtful gesture, you have accepted Nasarawa State as your second home, and for that I want to tell you that you have automatic employment there," Sule added.

Additionally, the governor counseled the beneficiaries to use the wheelchairs to help with their mobility issues rather than selling them.

Margret Eleyo, the Commissioner for Special Duties, Humanitarian Affairs, and Non-governmental Organizations, stated in a statement that the ministry will deploy equipment to guarantee that the supplies were utilized for their intended purpose.

Eleyo thanked the corps member for the gesture and said that it was unusual how dedicated he was to changing the lives of the vulnerable.

Jos's Beautiful Gate Handicap Center co-sponsored the wheelchair donation.

The donation was made as part of the corps members' Community Development Service (CDS), according to Abdullahi Jikamshi, the Nasarawa State NYSC Coordinator, who made the announcement during a welcome speech.

According to Jikamshi, the commission had a significant impact on a number of areas, including education, health, and sanitation.

He conveyed his appreciation to the governor for being there to experience it firsthand.

He claimed that by attending the event, the governor showed how dedicated his administration is to promoting inclusivity and community development.

Additionally, he expressed gratitude to the Center for its support of NYSC and urged other organizations and civic-minded people to join the program in its endeavor to improve the nation.
