3,963 educators were unsuccessful in the TRCN national qualifying exam.
The instructors Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN), which administers the Professional Qualifying Examination (PQE), a required test for educators, has seen thousands of instructors in Nigeria fail it.

Prof. Josiah Ajiboye, the TRCN Registrar, revealed the outcomes on Monday during a Q&A session with media.

More than 3,963 teachers, according to Ajiboye, failed the Professional Qualifying Examination in November 2023.

Additionally, he disclosed that just 10,636 teachers—or 72.9% of the 15,753 who took the November 2023 PQE—passed it.

15,753 people in total took the exam at 38 locations around the nation; 10,636 of them passed, or roughly 72.9%, and 3,963 did not pass, according to Ajiboye.

Ajiboye acknowledged that the teaching profession needed to improve, but he did not offer any concrete explanations for the high failure rate.

However, he acknowledged that some applicants did not show up for the test, and that the results of others were canceled because of possible malpractices.
