Speaking in Bauchi on Thursday during the distribution's closing ceremony, Mr. Sadiq Tijjani, the managing director of K.T. Doma Investment Ltd., which oversees the Bauchi zone distribution center, stated that the state is divided into four distribution areas: Bauchi (which includes the local councils of Toro, Tafawa Balewa, Dass, Bogoro, Kirfi, Alkaleri, Bauchi, and Ganjuwa), Azare, Misau, and Ningi areas.
1,400 farmers were chosen in the Bauchi center, 600 in the Azare center, 500 in Misau, and 500 in Ningi, according to Sadiq. "The ICT in Abuja has sent messages to the farmers to come to their centers where they will redeem their inputs," the speaker stated. "The farmers have been listed."
Seven NPK15:15:15 fertilizers, three urea fertilizers, two 50 kg bags of wheat seed, four liters of herbicides, and one litre of organic liquid fertiliser are included in the bundle for each farmer. Farmers are receiving 100 kg of free seed from the government. The remaining inputs total N361,000, of which the farmers must contribute 50%.
Since November 15th, we have been distributing the inputs, and today marks the completion of the distribution. We have provided the beneficiaries with all 1,400 inputs for Bauchi.
For a bountiful crop, he said, growers should have planted between November 15 and December 15. Sadiq went on to say that the program's goal is to lessen reliance on wheat imports.
Abubakar Suleiman, one of the recipients, thanked the government for helping the farmers increase wheat production and vowed to visit the field right away.
