15 pupils are offered scholarships to law school by Uzodimma's daughter.
Under the 2023 program of the annual Prada Uzodimma Law School Scholarship Grant (PUSG), 15 students have been awarded law school scholarships by Barr. Prada Uzodimma, daughter of Gov. Hope Uzodinma of Imo.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the PUSG held an award event on Saturday in Abuja where the honorees were revealed.

According to Uzodimma, the PUSG program had previously declared in September that its portal would be open to all prospective applicants nationwide for 2023.

She claims that out of the more than 200 applicants for the award, the screening committee carefully chose 15 applicants.

According to her, this year's beneficiary count was the largest since the program's start.

According to Uzodimma, the program is a yearly charitable and educational endeavor that offers financial assistance to a chosen group of underprivileged Nigerian law school applicants.

"It is important to trace the origins of the Prada Uzodimmma Law School Scholarship Grant back to my own time at the Nigerian law school in 2017," the speaker said, reflecting on the scholarship grant's incredible journey.

"When I was a law student in 2017, my group had to raise money for several other students who were unable to pay their tuition and hence could not take the Nigerian Bar Exams.

"As a group, we had to pool our resources to provide financial support for a few kids; however, we were unable to help all of them.

"I then came to the realization that many students at the Nigerian Law School are in this situation because the majority of them are passionate about becoming attorneys but are unable to support themselves.

"The Prada Uzodimmma Law School Scholarship Grant sets itself apart from other scholarships by focusing only on impoverished students and eschewing the traditional emphasis on their academic performance.

"We are giving indigent students the opportunity to become lawyers; the focus is not on the smartest student," the speaker stated.

According to Uzodimma, the law school scholarship program was established in 2021 in collaboration with Principle Legal Consult, and five recipients were chosen.
