In a statement released on Friday, Fanwo stated that the state's security personnel are there to safeguard voters and ensure that their ballots are counted.
"They have been very professional since coming to the state to provide security for our people, and we applaud the Federal Government and security agencies for their commitment to peaceful poll," Fanwo continued. "They are not in the state to intimidate or harass you."
Additionally, he said that qualified voters will feel secure casting their ballots and that every polling place would be safeguarded.
He said that everyone should avoid using violence because we cannot afford to lose the tranquility that exists in the state due to an activity that should typically be a celebration of democratic rights.
