This was said by Mr. Jamilu Indabawa, the state's commandant of the Corps, during a courtesy visit to Katsina on Monday by Mr. Lansana Wonneh, the UN Women deputy country representative.
According to him, this kind of cooperation with important parties was necessary to advance peacebuilding at this particular time.
Indabawa praised UN Women's interventions and reaffirmed the Corps' dedication to fostering social harmony.
Wonneh stated in his speech that the UN Women team was visiting for advocacy purposes in order to engage with peace architectures for the purpose of implementing a joint UN project.
He claims that in order to ensure the project's seamless execution, UN Women is collaborating with UNDP, UN Women Bridge, and Partners West Africa Nigeria.
According to him, the project's main goal was to improve peace architectures at the local and state levels in Katsina State, the North-West region, and the entire nation in order to promote peace and avert conflicts.
