At the National Coordination Committee for the National Geospatial Data Repository's launch and CRVS's inauguration on Wednesday at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, Tinubu assured the NPC of this.
According to President Tinubu, "the population continues to be the nation's greatest asset in the development process."
As part of our Renewed Hope Agenda, gathering precise and trustworthy data on the population's size, distribution, makeup, and other attributes is a crucial government task.
"Therefore, the commission will have assistance in conducting the next census."
In addition to announcing the creation of a digital platform that will make it easier for the nation to collect census data, Tinubu promised to provide funding so that the NPC could complete the postponed census.
Nigeria's population was estimated to be 140.43 million in 2006, the year of the country's latest census.
A second census was scheduled for 2016, however it was rescheduled.
Meanwhile, NPC was given N200 billion by the outgoing president, Muhammadu Buhari, to carry out a nationwide census.
However, owing to certain exigencies, the Buhari-led administration was forced to postpone the procedure.
