The INEC refuses to remove the credentials required to upload results to Imo.
A report claiming that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had removed the password for the uploaded election results from the Local Government Supervisors in Imo has been refuted by the commission.

The commission characterized the claim as false at midnight on Friday in a "fake news alert" sent to media by Chief Press Secretary to INEC Chairman, Mr. Rotimi Oyekanmi.

The information that has been brought to INEC's attention by unidentified "concerned workers" of the Commission claims that passwords for result uploads have been taken away from LGA Supervisors so that APO1s in Imo State can utilize them. That is incorrect.

To be clear, uploading results to the IReV is the responsibility of Presiding Officers (POs), not APO1s.

"All of the passwords have been safely made available for use by authorized officials in accordance with the protocols of the Commission.

"Before, during, and after the elections, the public should anticipate more of these insinuations and continue to discount them," Oyekanmi stated.
