The FCTA destroys the alleged hub for forging car papers in Mabushi. The FCTA, or Federal Capital Territory Administration, destroyed a small market that was purportedly used to issue fake car papers and other documents.

The market was destroyed on Wednesday by the FCTA Department of Development Control. It was situated in Mabushi, directly across from the Directorate of Road Traffic Services (DRTS) offices.

Following the exercise, the Director, Dr. Abdulatef Bello, informed the media that dishonest vendors had entered the market, working with questionable government agents to fabricate phony license plates and car paperwork.

According to Bello, a number of astute reports have revealed the illicit acts taking place in the market.

Presenting a few of the documents and license plates confiscated by DRTS officers, Bello characterized the event as a "serious leakage" of FCT's earnings.

He continued by saying that the safety of local residents and drivers was in danger due to the illegal activity in the area.

The director forbade drivers from obtaining vehicle registration from roadside personnel.

For an extended duration, we have noted that this specific structure serves as a haven for illicit operations such as piracy and other criminal pursuits.

Since we have been working to stop them, fate has now caught up with them, and today the structures have collapsed.

"So many of our documents that the criminals have pirated have been found by the demolition team," he claimed.

Bello stated that the DRTS officers would have a very hard time tracking down some of the automobiles that were registered using forged documents.

"The vehicles are the same ones they use for illegal activities in the area, so the camera will detect them, but it will be challenging for us to track them because they are not registered," he continued.

The company owners were given ample time to remove their assets, according to Mr. Alexander Owobi, the purported manager of the open space property where the market's commercial centers are located.

Owobi, a lawyer, added that he was unaware that criminals had broken into the location and that no security agency had informed him of this.
