The individual in question is Babayo Muhammad Akuyam, who holds the position of Speaker in the Bauchi State House of Assembly.
A new speaker and deputy have been elected by the Bauchi State House of Assembly subsequent to the removal of the former speaker, Abubakar Suleiman, and his deputy, Jamilu Barade, as ordered by the Court of Appeal.
On Wednesday morning, Babayo Muhammad Akuyam from Hardawa Constituency was chosen as the new Speaker, while Ahmed Abdullahi from Dass Constituency was voted unopposed as the Deputy Speaker of the Assembly.
On Friday, the Court dismissed Abubakar Suleiman, the previous Speaker representing Ningi Central, and mandated a rerun in 10 polling units. Subsequently, on Monday, the Court also removed Jamilu Barade, the deputy Speaker, and ordered a rerun in 9 polling units.
