The Chairman of the House of Representatives committee on Public Account, Mr Bamidele Salam, expressed concern about the lack of implementation of the child rights Act in the country.
Despite the law being adopted by most states, he emphasized that minimal progress has been made, estimating that less than 25 percent of the action plan has been executed by state governments.
Mr Salam highlighted the significance of the National Children Leadership Conference, aiming to enhance leadership quality in Nigeria and Africa.
He underscored the importance of nurturing leadership skills in children to address developmental challenges, citing the success of the conference in inspiring young participants to establish NGOs and collaborate across ethnic backgrounds.
