Reps invite the council, NUC, and others regarding the NOUN law program's termination.
Regarding the closure of the law program at the National Open University Commission (NOUN), the House of Representatives has invited the Acting Executive Secretary of the National University Commission (NUC) and the Director General of the Council of Legal Education.

The Vice Chancellor of the NOUN, the Chairman of the Board of Benchers, and the heads of the Nigeria Law School were among the others invited.

This came about as a result of a decision made after a meeting on Thursday in Abuja between Rep. Abubakar Fulata, the chairman of the House Committee on University Education, and a few irate final-year law students and Prof. Olufemi Peters, the vice chancellor of NOUN.

NOUN claimed the university senate's action was motivated by a direction from the Council of Legal Education, which led to the program's purported termination.

The chairman asked the heads of other pertinent agencies and the minister of education to work toward eradicating the terrible threat linked to Nigeria's declining educational standards.

He stated that with the dedication and collaboration of stakeholders, including NASS, issues like strikes, insecurity, insufficient budget, and infrastructure facilities, among others, could be addressed.

Fulata stated that this can be achieved by both enforcing the current ways and developing new ones that are equally successful.

He claims that in addition to allocating sufficient funds for infrastructure repair, this also entails re-strategizing.

According to him, this would successfully enhance the postsecondary and basic education subsectors.

Prof. Tahir Mamman, the country's minister of education, stated in a statement that there are numerous obstacles facing the educational system.

Mamman listed the learning crisis, the millions of out-of-school youngsters, and the security danger posed by graduates who lack the necessary skills as the challenges.

He asserted that academic success was a function of individual qualities rather than the system.

He claims that there is inadequate equipment at the polytechnic, which is meant to offer the required skills.
