On Thursday, Sanwo-Olu commissions the Yaba bypass bridge.
On Thursday, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the governor of Lagos State, will officially open the Lagos Rail Mass Transit (LRMT) Red Line Overpass Bridge at Yaba. The bridge will undoubtedly enhance traffic flow into other regions of the state from the Yaba-Ojuelegba Axis.

According to a statement made by Kola Ojelabi, Head of Communication for the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA), the T-shaped bridge crosses the railroad tracks to carry traffic from Murtala Muhammed Way to Ojuelegba Road and vice versa.

A rail level crossing was crossed by vehicles entering Ojuelegba Road from Murtala Muhammad, which frequently caused severe delays for train operations in addition to a significant risk of collisions involving both cars and pedestrians.

One of the four new bridges constructed by the Sanwo-Olu government on the Red Line rail alignment to remove interactions between train and vehicle traffic is the Yaba Overpass Bridge.

The governor had assured Lagosians that the Red Line will soon begin operations, and the bridge will make it easier for people to travel on it.

Speaking at the bridge's completion, Engineer Abimbola Akinajo, Managing Director of the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA), stated that the overpass bridge will allow the Red line trains, which will travel across it frequently, to move freely and will also put an end to the frequent accidents that occur at level crossings.

"Three overpasses—Oyingbo, Yaba, and Ikeja—have been finished; the Mushin is scheduled for completion by the end of the year. She said, "The Federal Ministry of Transportation has promised that they would begin construction on the four very soon.
