President Bola Tinubu has lauded former President Goodluck Jonathan as a democracy icon, highlighting his role in inspiring hope for good governance in Nigeria and across Africa. 

Tinubu's comments were conveyed in a statement by his media aide, Chief Ajuri Ngelale, on Sunday to commemorate Jonathan's 66th birthday on November 20. 

Tinubu acknowledged Jonathan's statesmanship, leadership achievements, and contributions to peace in Africa. 

He commended the former president for his dedication to humanity and democratic institutions, emphasizing Jonathan's wisdom and foresight as examples for aspiring leaders. 

Tinubu wished Jonathan and his wife, Patience, continued health and strength.
