NSA requests that Labour end the strike and look into the attack on the NLC president.
The leadership of organized labor has been urged to put a stop to the strike action by the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA).

ONSA expressed its worry about the announcement of a statewide strike by the NLC and TUC-led Organized Labor Leadership.

The ONSA is especially concerned about how the strike action will affect the everyday lives of Nigerians and how it can affect economic security and other critical national interests, according to ONSA Head of Strategic Communication Zakari Mijinyawa.

"The Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) President, Comrade Joseph Ajaero, was attacked in Owerri, Imo State, and the NLC leadership attests that the NSA stepped in right away to help."

"The National Security Agency (NSA) expresses regret for the incident and denounces it completely, as it violated the legal system and the principles of free speech and association that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his administration uphold."

"The Federal Government will never support an action of such nature. Following the occurrence, the appropriate authorities were instructed to look into the details surrounding the assault in great detail and to apprehend those responsible.

According to the current update, some arrests have already been made in this respect. As soon as the inquiry is over, the results will be made available to the public.

Therefore, the Office of the NSA on behalf of the Federal Government makes a request to the labor leadership to end the current strike action and let the ongoing dialogue process run its course.
