NNPP challenges the Kano government's Appeal Court ruling and goes to the Supreme Court.
The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) leadership has rejected the Court of Appeal's judgment that removed Governor Kabir Yusuf as the Governor of Kano State.

The acting National Chairman, Abba Ali, labeled the judgment a miscarriage of justice and expressed dismay at what the party perceives as political desperation by the APC leaders in Kano State.

Ali highlighted the overwhelming support the governor received from the people and criticized the APC's attempts to overturn the election results through the courts.

The NNPP has instructed its lawyers to appeal the judgment at the Supreme Court and called on well-meaning Nigerians and the international community to intervene and preserve democracy in Nigeria.

In a related development, the South West Zone of the NNPP cautioned President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the ruling party against creating chaos in Kano State in their efforts to unseat Governor Yusuf. The leader of the Southwest NNPP, Alhaji Basic Olopoeyan, expressed concern about the perceived desperation of the APC and the Presidency to use the courts to overturn the electorate's will. Olopoeyan criticized the way elections are being decided through legal processes rather than the voters' choices and deemed the Appeal Court's judgment as ambiguous and unacceptable.

He expressed trust in the Supreme Court to deliver necessary justice.
