NICO starts the yearly Roundtable by educating Nigerians about the effects of African time.
The National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NICO) highlighted poor time management as a contributing factor to Nigeria's delayed development.

The Executive Secretary, Mr. Ado M. Yahuza, emphasized the negative impact of the "African Time Syndrome" on missed opportunities, delayed progress, strained relationships, and hindered productivity.

The two-day annual roundtable in Benue State focused on the theme "The African Time Syndrome: Implication for National Development." Yahuza urged collective efforts to eliminate this cultural habit, stressing the need to discuss challenges and benefits for cultural harmony and national development.

The event, chaired by Professor Gowon Ama Doki, acknowledged the socio-economic implications of poor time management.

Tur Makurdi, Chief Aule Vincent, a Royal Father of the Day, commended NICO for addressing cultural issues and emphasized the timeliness of the conference theme in fostering cultural awareness and development.
