Minister: FG to collaborate with Microsoft on video games that feature Nigerian culture and fashion
Hannatu Musawa, the Minister of Arts, Culture, and Creative Economy, has announced plans to revitalize the video game animation industry in Nigeria. 


During the Xbox Developer Hangout organized by Microsoft, Musawa revealed intentions to integrate Nigerian movies, music, fashion, and culture into locally produced video games. 


Emphasizing the industry's potential for youth employment, she expressed a commitment to collaborating with Microsoft to achieve this vision. 


Musawa highlighted the need for innovation in the gaming space, aiming to showcase indigenous content in video games. Microsoft's Country Manager, Olatomiwa Williams, reiterated the organization's commitment to empowering individuals in the industry, aligning with President Bola Tinubu's economic diversification agenda. 


Various industry experts emphasized the significance of the video game sector, suggesting tools for development and emphasizing the importance of storytelling to infuse culture into games. 


Collaboration, inclusivity, and awareness were identified as key factors for the industry's growth, with calls for intervention at the secondary school level to promote active participation, especially among women.
