Medical supplier is charged by EFCC with N2.9 million fraud.

The Kaduna Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has brought charges against Sunday Ekele for allegedly committing fraud amounting to N2,930,029. 

Ekele was arraigned before Justice Darius Khobo of the Kaduna State High Court on a one-count charge related to criminal breach of trust and misappropriation. 

The charge accuses Ekele of dishonestly misappropriating the money entrusted to him for the supply of pharmaceutical products. 

Ekele pleaded not guilty, and the court granted him bail in the sum of Two Million Naira, with a surety who must own a property in Kaduna verified by a Certificate of Occupancy. 

The case is adjourned to January 25, 2024, for further hearing.
