Kwara emir is prohibited by court from removing the family head.
A High Court in Ilorin has issued an interim injunction order against the traditional ruler, Etsu of Tsaragi, Alhaji Aliyu Abdullahi Kpotwa, in Kwara State's Edu local government area.

The order, given by Justice I. A. Yusuf, prohibits Alhaji Kpotwa from removing or dealing with the stool of the Ndadzoko of Tsaragi emirate, Alhaji Attahiru Haruna Abdulkadir.

The court further directed all parties involved in the suit to maintain the status quo until the motion on notice is heard and determined (KWS/455/2023).

The claimant, Alhaji Attahiru Abdulkadir, who also serves as the chairman of the Kingmakers of the emirate, was appointed and turbaned in 2016.

The interim injunction also prevents the emir from dealing with lands owned by Alhaji Abdulkadir pending the resolution of the motion on notice.

Additionally, it restrains the emir from appointing a parallel or new Ndadzoko of Tsaragi and prohibits the second defendant from presenting himself as the head of the Ndadzoko family.

The court adjourned the hearing of the motion on notice to December 12, 2023.
