Justice Acha Buratai receives an honorary doctorate from Igbinedion University
Former Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai (retd.), was honored with a Doctor of International Relations and Strategic Studies, Honoris Causa, by Igbinedion University Okada (IUO) during its 21st Convocation Ceremony. 


Other recipients included Former Edo Chief Judge, Justice Joe Acha (retd.), who received a Doctor of Laws (LLD) Honoris Causa. 


The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator Dr. George Akume, emphasized the need for strengthening tertiary education, citing funding and infrastructural development. 


He called for collaboration between the Public and Private Sectors to support public tertiary institutions. 


Vice-Chancellor Prof. Lawrence Ezemonye highlighted the university's internationalization efforts and future expansion plans. 


Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, commended the institution for providing world-class education. 


After receiving the honorary degree, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai expressed gratitude, considering the award a testament to his dedication and unwavering service to the country. 


Former Edo Chief Judge, Justice Joe Acha (retd.), also appreciated the institution for the prestigious honor.
