'Incorruptible' former minister Abu Gidado and twenty-three others are honored by the Barewa Old Boys Association.
The Barewa Old Boys Association (BOBA) has recognized the contributions of individuals like former Minister of Finance Alhaji Abu Gidado, legal luminary Alhaji Aliyu Alarape Salman, and public health practitioner Dr. Akpaka Kalu. 


The annual Barewa Lecture and Awards ceremony, attended by notable figures like former Head of State General Yakubu Gowon and Sultan of Sokoto Alhaji Muhammad Saad Abubakar III, honored 24 individuals for their national development contributions. 


Among them is Alhaji Abu Gidado, known for his incorruptible nature during the General Sani Abacha administration. 


The honorees include Chief Cornelius Olatunji Adebayo, ex-Kwara State Governor; Dr. Akpaka Kalu Akpaka, a public health practitioner at the World Health Organization; and others. 


The Barewa College, founded in 1921, is renowned for producing prominent figures in the northern elite class, including national icons and leaders in various sectors.
