In Delta, police stop cult initiation and seize firearms.

The Delta State Police Command reported the disruption of a suspected cult initiation and the recovery of a pump-action gun. 

Acting on credible intelligence, police officers stormed an uncompleted building in Sapele, where the initiation was allegedly taking place. 

Fleeing suspects abandoned a bag containing an English pump-action gun. The recovered exhibit is now in custody, and an investigation is underway to identify and apprehend the suspects. 

In another incident, a suspected cultist was arrested in Umunede Community, with a locally made cut-to-size gun recovered during the operation. 

The Delta State Commissioner of Police commended the efforts of the officers and urged residents to cooperate with the police.
