Hadiza Gabon, a Kannywood actress, pursues a man to court for character slander
Due to alleged character slander, Kannywood actress Hadiza Aliyu, better known as Hadiza Gabon, hauled one Bala Musa, a public worker, before a magistrate's court on Daura Road, Kaduna, on Wednesday.

Speaking through her attorney, Mr. Mubarak Sani, the actress said that the defendant's baseless accusations against her had caused her to face backlash from the public.

He went on to say that accusations against Aliyu, particularly on social media, that he was a liar and had declined to wed Musa after receiving his money were "proved to be false."

The defendant refuted the accusation through Mr. Naira Murtala, his solicitor.

When the complainant's attorney was asked if they had witnesses, they responded in the yes to Chief Magistrate Shamsudeen Sulaiman.

The accused was granted bail by the Chief Magistrate, subject to the requirement that he provide two trustworthy sureties who had to be civil servants and residents of Kaduna State.

In order to allow the complainant to call witnesses, he postponed the case until November 15.

at March 2022, the defendant brought a lawsuit against Aliyu at Magajin Gari Shari'a Court.

After giving the actress N396,000, he said, she refused to marry him.

The actress later denied ever having known Musa, claiming she had never spoken to or met him previously and had no personal connection to him.

The complainant's attorney showed the Shari'a court a copy of the bank statement and informed the judge that the funds purportedly sent to the defendant were received by about four persons.

Fatima Abdullahi and Abdullahi Yusuf, two of the four, professed to be the defendant's friends and personal aides.

They begged the judge to pardon them as they entered a guilty plea for impersonating the actress and accepting money in her name.

On October 31, Judge Isiyaku Abdulrahman dropped the case and released Aliyu following a series of petitions by Murtala to move the matter to an upper Shari'a court.

He mandated that the defendant's attorney and his client reimburse the actress N500,000 for the time she lost.
