Gunmen in Imo kill an inspector and a DPO.

Suspected members of the Biafra Liberation Army reportedly killed the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of Ahiazu Mbaise local government area and an inspector in Imo State. 

The incident occurred on November 27, 2023, when the DPO and his orderly were ambushed at Ahiara junction while refueling their operational vehicle at BOEK fuel station. 

A viral video depicted the lifeless body of the DPO with multiple gunshot wounds on the ground, while civilians removed the orderly from the operational van. 

In response, the Imo State Police Command arrested at least 18 suspected IPOB members linked to the killing of the DPO and Inspector, with tactical police, led by Commissioner of Police Aboki Danjuma, actively tracking the suspects.
