Governor Bello releases N497 million to cover the cost of the 2023 WAEC exam.Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has authorized the immediate disbursement of N497 million for the payment of the 2023 WAEC test fees for students registered in the state's public schools, as part of measures to further improve the state's educational system.

The government's recent promise to offer free education in Kogi State's public schools from primary to secondary school level is also being fulfilled by this distribution, demonstrating the government's unshakable commitment to putting the "Zero Out-of-School Policy" into effect.

"This resolute step reflects the administration's dedication to ensuring that every child has the opportunity to access quality education, regardless of their socioeconomic status," the Chief Press Secretary signed a statement to the Governor, Muhammad Onogwu, on Saturday. Its goal is to enable kids to take important exams without putting their parents or guardians through undue financial strain.

Additionally, the governor recently emphasized that parents who fail to enroll their children in school will face consequences from his administration. This all-encompassing approach to education highlights the state's dedication to guaranteeing active involvement in addition to expanding access to education.

With 1,867 students, Dekina is the school with the largest number of beneficiaries from this WAEC fees program, followed by 1,569 students in Lokoja Local Government Area and 1,345 students in Okene.

This wonderful project would help a significant 15,033 pupils overall, providing a better educational future for Kogi State's young.
