Four bandits who had attacked a resident of Dan-Umaru hamlet in Kebbi's Bena District have been slain by vigilante members.
The governor's chief press secretary, Alhaji Ahmed Idris, made this claim in a statement on Monday in Birnin Kebbi.
Alhaji AbdulRahman Usman, Director of Security at the Cabinet Office, was cited by Idris as stating that the victim was attacked by the bandits on Monday.
On their route to Zamfara, he claimed, the vigilante ambushed the bandits and killed four of them.
According to him, the event happened close to Dan-Umaru village, which borders Dadin Duniya community in Zamfara's Maru Local Government Area.
The victim was receiving treatment at an unidentified hospital when the attackers' corpses, according to the director, were dumped at Dan-Umaru village.
