Following 50 days of incarceration, a female FUDMA student is released.
One of the five abducted female students from Federal University Dutsinma (FUDMA) in Katsina State has regained her freedom after spending approximately 50 days in captivity.

The girl was released from the kidnappers' hideout and transported to Kuncin Kalgo, Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara, before being brought back to Katsina on Sunday.

She is reported to be in stable condition, receiving necessary medical attention.

The spokesperson for the Police Command in Katsina State, ASP Aliyu Abubakar-Sadiq, confirmed this development to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Katsina.

It's worth noting that the girls had been held captive since October 3, 2023, following a gunmen attack on their rented apartment located behind Mariamoh Ajiri Memorial School, Dutsinma, during which the police arrested a man suspected to be an informant to the terrorists.

However, there has been no subsequent information provided regarding the progress of the investigation.
