Enugu aims to create 11,000 employment and N47.5 billion via logistics hubs and Central Terminal.
The Enugu State Government has introduced the first phase of the Transport Infrastructure Project (TIP), encompassing world-class bus terminals, transport interchanges, logistics hubs, city gates, and rail stations.

This initiative is projected to generate over 11,000 skilled and semi-skilled jobs for youth and attract at least ₦47.5 billion in investment.

The project aligns with Governor Peter Mbah's vision to modernize the state's transportation sector, drawing inspiration from successful models in Dubai and Singapore.

The plan includes Enugu Central Station, Garki Central Station, Abakpa Central Station, Nsukka Central Station, logistic hubs at Obollo Afor, 9th Mile Corner, and Emene, as well as iconic City Gates at Naira Triangle and 9th Mile, Udi.

The Enugu Central Station aims to accommodate millions of commuters using both road and rail transportation.

The project also addresses security concerns, enhances safety, improves sanitation, and eliminates gridlocks within the metropolis.

The government has engaged major stakeholders, including the Nigerian Railway Corporation, with compensation plans for affected properties.

Additionally, a memorandum of understanding has been signed with the China Rail and Bridge Company to establish a 382km rail infrastructure, fostering integration and economic prosperity in the Southeast.

The government refutes rumors of taking over railway properties for commercial development, emphasizing plans for intra-state operations in partnership with the Nigeria Railway Corporation.
