Governor Francis Nwifuru announced this during a pastoral visit from Bishop Peter Nworie of the Catholic Diocese of Abakaliki.
Nwifuru directed relevant officials to initiate the process of returning the schools to the missions, expressing readiness to hand them over if the Catholic Church or other missions are willing to take back the schools.
The governor acknowledged the crucial role played by the Catholic Church and other missions in enhancing the quality of education in the state.
Additionally, he revealed plans to sponsor 100 First Class and 2nd Class Upper Division graduates for international studies and 300 individuals for Master's degrees in Nigerian universities.
Bishop Nworie welcomed the decision to return mission schools and assured the Church's support in achieving the governor's goals for the state.
He emphasized the importance of the state cabinet members providing full support to the governor.
