Diri casts vote at polling unit
At 8.40 a.m., Bayelsa State Governor Douye Diri cast his ballot in the Opokuma/Kolokuma Local Council's Ward 6, Unit 4 Center, which is located in his hometown of Sampou.

Speaking afterwards, Diri acknowledged her happiness with the efficient accreditation and voting procedure, particularly with BIVAS's efficacy. She went on to say that if the same circumstance occurred in other polling places, it would indicate that INEC has improved since previous elections.

However, he also voiced alarm about the purported attempt to deny voting rights to certain voters, PDP members, and party agents in Basambiri-Nembe, who were prevented from going into their communities on Friday night in advance of yesterday's election.

Along with the reported kidnapping of an INEC officer, the theft of election materials by some thugs from Sagbama Ward 6 (for which he applauded INEC for its swift response), and the boat accident that resulted in the loss of important voting materials in Southern Ijaw, these incidents also occurred.

He reaffirmed his demand for a free, impartial, and violent-free process, emphasizing that "only BIVAS will be used for accreditation and voting" in the Nembe region.
