Court postspones lawsuit contesting EFCC chairman nomination till 2024
The Federal High Court in Abuja has scheduled February 22, 2024, for the hearing of a lawsuit challenging the appointment of Ola Olukoyede as the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The plaintiff, Victor Opatola, representing himself, informed the court that he had received preliminary objections from the Federal Government and the Attorney-General but had not yet received any process from the National Assembly (NASS) and the EFCC chairman.

The court agreed to the proposed date for hearing after the parties concurred.

Opatola filed the suit challenging the validity of Olukoyede's appointment, questioning whether he fulfilled the conditions of the EFCC Act.
