Court directs parties in the Rivers Assembly conflict to keep things as they are.
Justice Phoebe Ayuba of the Federal High Court, Port Harcourt, has issued an order for all parties involved in the Rivers State parliamentary dispute to maintain the status quo until the hearing of the Motion on Notice.

The suit involves the new Speaker of the House of Assembly and the House itself, seeking a declaration that the former speaker and deputy, having been removed and suspended, should not interfere with legislative proceedings.

The motion on notice is scheduled for hearing on November 27, 2023.

This follows leadership crises in the Rivers State House of Assembly arising from attempts to impeach the State Governor.
