COP28: Tinubu, King Charles meet to strengthen Nigeria-UK partnershipOn Thursday, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu revealed that he had a meeting with King Charles of England to further improve Nigeria's relationship with the UK.


In advance of the COP28 Climate Action Summit in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Tinubu revealed this in a statement on X .


He stated, "I met with His Majesty, King Charles III of England, who is the Head of the Commonwealth and an enthusiastic climate advocate, and we had a productive meeting."


"The gathering represented a major advancement in the United Kingdom-Nigeria partnership."


The President went on to say that he is really hopeful about the beneficial effects that Nigeria and the UK's combined efforts will have in the future on the world.


During COP28, Tinubu added, Nigeria and the UK hope to establish a fair worldwide norm for environmental stewardship.


The 28th edition of the United Nations Climate Change Conference, also known as the Conference of the Parties of the UNFCCC, or COP28, will take place in 2023.


The conference will take place at Expo City in Dubai from November 30, 2023, to December 12, 2023.


When the world evaluates its progress toward the Paris Agreement, COP28 UAE will be a historic occasion.


A thorough evaluation of the state of affairs following the adoption of the Paris Agreement will be given by the first Global Stocktake (GST).


This will facilitate the coordination of actions to address climate change, including the implementation of necessary policies to close existing gaps in progress.
