Cole's petition against Rivers Governor Fubara is dismissed by the Appeal Court

On Tuesday, an Appeal Court in Lagos dismissed the petition filed by Patrick Tonye Cole, the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, against Governor Siminalayi Fubara of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). 

Tonye-Cole sought a court directive for INEC to declare him the winner of the March governorship election in Rivers. 

The Appeal Court upheld the Tribunal's ruling, which had earlier affirmed Fubara's victory. 

Fubara secured 302,614 votes, winning the election, while Tonye Cole finished second with 95,274 votes.
