The fraudulent list circulated on WhatsApp groups from Friday, November 17, to Monday, November 20, 2023.
In a statement released on Tuesday, the Navy clarified that the list is not authentic and is the creation of "mischievous and unscrupulous elements" aiming to deceive the public.
The Navy emphasized that NNBTS Batch 35 has already commenced training, rendering the fake list entirely false.
They explicitly stated that the list did not originate from the Nigerian Navy.
"To clarify, NNBTS Batch 35 has already resumed training, and the fake supplementary list of names DID NOT originate from the Nigerian Navy," the statement declared.
The Nigerian Navy urged the public to disregard the counterfeit list and issued a warning to fraudsters and mischief-makers, advising them to refrain from such deceptive actions.
