Bayelsa's results collation was postponed to Monday by INEC.The postponing of the results collation process for the Bayelsa State Governorship Election scheduled for November 11, 2023, has been announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The Sunday, November 12, 2023, collation was postponed until Monday, November 13, 2023, at noon.

"Challenges in the collation of results in Brass and Southern Ijaw" local government areas were mentioned by Wilfred Igofah, the head of voter education and publicity for the commission in Bayelsa State.

Following the presentation of results from six of the state's eight local government areas, the decision was made to postpone the collation. The results for the final two local government districts, Brass and Southern Ijaw, have not yet been tallied and displayed.

The findings have been compiled for the following six local government areas: Nembe, Ekeremor, Sagbama, Yenegoa, Ogbia, and Kolokuma/Opokuma.

The Peoples Democratic Party's (PDP) Douye Diri, the current governor, has assumed the lead in five of these LGAs. But Timipre Sylva, the candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC), won in one LGA.

The current governor, Diri, is running for re-election based on the results of the six LGAs that have been declared. To date, he has accumulated 137,909 votes from these six LGAs.

Former Bayelsa State governor Sylva is running for the APC and wants to take back his old job.
