Dr. Bosun Tijani, the Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, emphasized the goal of encouraging the use of Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies such as UAV, IoT, AI, and Blockchain to enhance various sectors of the economy.
The Agriculture Demonstration Project, the first initiative under 4IRTA, focuses on identifying and integrating market-ready innovations that leverage these technologies to improve productivity and sustainability in agriculture.
Selected projects will receive funding up to N10,000,000 to implement 4IR technologies in their work.
The application period is open until December 7, 2023.
Additionally, the Minister highlighted the importance of improved connectivity as critical infrastructure for economic growth and mentioned ongoing efforts to explore funding models for broadband connectivity, aligning with Nigeria's infrastructure development goals.
