APC plans to dismiss pro-Amaechi Exco members and give Wike control of the Rivers State Party structure.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) is set to transfer its Rivers state chapter structure to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike. 

This decision follows the resolution of the national working committee (NWC), led by Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, to dissolve the embattled Rivers state Executive Committee at all levels. 

A seven-member Caretaker Committee, including loyalists of the FCT minister, has been appointed to oversee the party's affairs in the state for the next six months. 

The committee is mandated to conduct a fresh electronic party registration and prepare for congresses to establish new Executive Committees at various levels. 

The inauguration is scheduled for Friday, November 24, 2023, at the Party’s National Secretariat in Abuja.
