The judgment, originally scheduled for Jan. 23, 2024, was delayed after parties virtually adopted their addresses on Monday.
The surgeon faces charges from the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC), accused of refusing to honor an invitation for an investigation into a post-body surgery complication and failing to produce investigation documents.
The trial commenced on July 17, 2020, with the FCCPC closing its case.
The defense filed a no-case submission, which was rejected by Justice Mohammed Liman in April 2022, ordering the defense to present its case. The case has experienced several adjournments, and the judgment is now set for Jan. 23, 2024.
The charges against the defendant include failure to appear before the FCCPC and refusal to produce required documents, allegedly obstructing the commission's investigation, contravening the FCCPC Act, 2018.
